Sports and traumatic injuries
Have you sustained an injury while participating in sport, physical recreation, or in everyday activities? Our team of experts, i.e. osteopaths, physiotherapists and kinesitherapists, who closely cooperate with Croatian eminent physicians, have many years of experience, with a high-performance rate, in both the conservative and post-surgery treatment of sports and traumatic injuries.
Compression fracture of the lumbar vertebrae
Compression fractures of the lumbar vertebrae can happen in a car accident and in sports such as rugby, skiing and horseback riding.
Stress fracture (spondylolysis)
Frequent flexion and extension loads of the lumbar spine can lead to oedema (stress reaction) or stress fractures of the interarticular part of the vertebra. The incidence of spondylolysis in the general population is about 5%, while it is significantly higher in young athletes in sports involving repetitive spinal loads (tennis, football, gymnastics, diving, ballet).
