Degenerative diseases of joints and the spine
Do your joints or spine feel painful and stiff? Has the quality of your life deteriorated because of degenerative changes caused by aging and/or repeated micro damage? Our team of experts have considerable experience in conservative and post-surgery treatment of degenerative diseases of joints and the spine.
Degenerative morphological changes in the spine are caused by aging and/or recurrent micro damage and can lead to painful syndromes, especially in the neck and back. Although degenerative changes occur on all anatomical structures of the spine, including facet joints (arthrosis, synovitis), ligaments (thickening, inflammation, degeneration) and vertebrae (osteochondrosis, bone thorn), they are most pronounced on the intervertebral discs. The changes on the discs include loss of disc height, radial bulging, fibrosis of the fibrous ring, and herniation. In such cases making the diagnosis is often demanding, as most people over the age of 30 who do not have back pain and symptoms have degenerative changes in the spine visible on magnetic resonance. Therefore, making a detailed clinical examination and correlating the results of the examination with magnetic resonance findings is crucial.
Treatment of degenerative diseases of the spine is generally conservative and involves osteopathy, acupuncture, kinesitherapy, decompression treatment and counseling related to modification of movement and activity, but may require surgery in a relatively small number of cases.
Our team of experts has extensive experience in the field of diagnosis and conservative treatment of painful spinal syndromes with the background of degenerative morphological changes. You can thus approach us with full confidence.
